Date and Time: 6-8:00pm

Location: HER Kitchen, 1442 Hertel Ave, Buffalo, NY 14216

Cost: $65.00

Join me for a fun, relaxed, and inspiring 2-hour workshop where we’ll turn your garden dreams into a thoughtful, personalized plan you can actually grow with. We will focus on planning a kitchen garden.

In this hands-on session, I’ll walk you through the process I use for garden planning—whether you’re starting fresh or looking to refine your space. We’ll explore how to design a garden that feels abundant, balanced, and manageable throughout the seasons.

Together, we’ll cover:

  • Visions and Intentions. What do you want from your garden? (food, beauty, pollinators, experimentation)
  • Companion planting and guild style thinking “Plant friends & foes” to support healthier growth naturally and manage pests
  • Square foot gardening for maximizing small spaces
  • Timing, and succession sowing for continuous harvests
  • Mulching, no dig, and soil health practices for thriving plants
  • Vertical growing (trellises, arches, fencing)
  • Plant sourcing. What to buy vs. what to start from seed

You’ll also get creative with:

  • Sketching your garden layout using graph paper and craft supplies.
  • Planning for spring, summer, and fall gardens so your space evolves beautifully over time.

You will take home:

  • Simple planning worksheet and a garden map that you begin making in class.
  • Companion planting cheat sheet
  • Seasonal planting list

You will enjoy some light snacks:

    • Simple planning worksheet and a garden map that you begin making in class.

This workshop is meant to feel easy going, creative, and empowering—no perfection required. Just curiosity, ideas, and a willingness to play.

We’ll have light, nourishing snacks to keep the ideas flowing, including sourdough bread and crackers, fresh fruits and veggies, dips, and pickled treats.

Come ready to imagine, design, and leave with resources to start your garden journey and a new beginning for your garden.
