Model of Growth: The Sourdough Principle
My long-term vision is for this business to grow like a sourdough starter—alive, relational, and constantly nourishing its community. Just as a starter is fed in order to multiply and feed others, I aim to build a business as a dual enterprise: one branch generates steady capital through education, workshops, and shared food experiences, while the other channels that nourishment (finances and resources) into a cooperatively owned trust.
This trust will serve as a living financial ecosystem that supports food sovereignty initiatives, regenerative agriculture projects, community-based nourishment programs, and other values-aligned efforts. In this model, revenue becomes a communal resource—fermented, expanded, and redistributed—creating sustainable cycles of care.
By embedding the sourdough principle into the structure of the business, the enterprise becomes more than a revenue generator; it becomes a catalyst for collective well-being, a financial starter culture that grows through relationship and continually feeds the broader community.
